PRF/PRP, Mesotherapy and Microneedling

Mesotherapy, PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) and PRP (platelet-rich plasma) are all repairing, skin rejuvenation treatments effective in treating fine lines and wrinkles as well as improving tone and texture. Facial Mesotherapy is among the most successful skin treatments to reverse visible signs of ageing.

Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) and Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy.

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) are the most natural way to rejuvenate the skin. Using plasma from your very own blood, this procedure restores youth and a healthy glow to the skin. It is a safe, effective and proven technique to improve the appearance of your skin. It is effective in treating the following:

  • NWrinkles and fine lines
  • NUneven skin texture or tone
  • NScars from acne
  • NPores that are enlarged
  • NDamage from the sun or dark spots
  • NDark circles or eye bags
  • NSkin that appears dull and weary
  • NHair loss

PRP and PRF use the natural healing growth factors in your own blood which is rich in platelets, white blood cells and fibrin. This stimulates the production of collagen, elastin, and new skin cells, encouraging the skin and hair to regenerate.

PRP treatment is an autologous procedure meaning ‘from your own body’. PRF/PRP is drawn from your own blood. One vial of blood is obtained prior to the procedure and spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma in the blood. The plasma is then injected back into the skin/problem area using a small needle and micro-needling

Preparation for the Procedure

You will be given a list of medications to cease using a few days before the procedure. Retinol, glycolic acids, and certain topical treatments are among the most common medications to avoid. After the therapy, you will be told when you can start using the product again (usually 3 days)

You must also remove makeup and other facial cosmetics from the skin. You should not take anti-inflammatory medications on the day of your treatment since they may interfere with the natural healing process. Additionally, using a headband will keep your hair from falling on your face.

SkinCareBefore-After

Will it hurt?

Prior to treatment numbing with a topical anaesthetic will be applied. This makes the procedure more comfortable.

How long does it take?

The actual procedure takes approximately 30 minutes.

What are the post-procedure effects?

You may experience some discomfort as a result of the procedure. The skin may appear reddish or pink just after the treatment, similar to a sunburn. Itching, peeling, redness, tightness, roughness, burning, and tenderness of the skin may be experienced during the first 24 hours, although they can last up to two days. The severity of these adverse effects is determined by the skin’s sensitivity and the treatment’s aggressiveness. Under eye treatments can cause bruising. Difficulties normally resolve on their own without causing severe complications.

How long does it take to see the results?

PRP/PRF consists of a series of four to eight treatments, spaced six to eight weeks apart. The volume will effectively disappear within one to three weeks. Long-term results such as skin tightening, collagen production, and improved skin quality may take three to four months to detect and persist anywhere between six and twelve months.

After six weeks of initial treatment, the promised benefits and results of the PRF treatment are usually visible.

We recommend 4-6 treatments for hair loss, 4 weeks part. After 6 months new hair follicles will start to come through.

Am I a good candidate for PRF hair restoration?

If you are experiencing hair loss you are likely to be a good candidate for PRF hair restoration. The treatment is most effective in the early stages of hair loss, when the hair follicles remain healthy and capable of regrowth. There are certain cases where PRF may not be effective, such as scarring, alopecia or hair loss with permanently damaged or inactive follicles. In these cases, hair transplants may be a better treatment option.

If you are experiencing excessive hair shedding and thinning, due to factors like stress, inflammation, inadequate nutrition, genetics, hormonal imbalances, or harsh hair treatments, PRF may be a good option. It can also help women with traction alopecia caused by tightly pulled hairstyles. PRF hair restoration can combat these stressors, while providing the necessary nutrients to stimulate new and thicker hair growth.

Post hair transplant we recommend a course of 3 treatments at 4 week intervals. Thereafter, we suggest a one-off maintenance treatment annually.

We recommend a course of 3 treatments at 4 week intervals for maximum benefit.

This treatment is also recommended post hair transplant. The three main advantages post hair transplant are:

PRF maintains and increases the viability of hair follicles during and after hair transplant

It promotes and enhances repairing of tissue and aids the healing process after hair transplantation

It strengthens inactive hair follicles and stimulates new hair growth.

Mesotherapy

Facial Mesotherapy is a minimally invasive procedure which stimulates the production of collagen and elastin and provides the ideal environment for healthy skin. It is used for wrinkles, dull looking skin and hyperpigmentation as a pro- aging and anti-inflammatory support. Mesotherapy involves a series of small injections that place a nourishing, revitalising formula into the skin. It has proved to be among the most popular skin treatments with those searching for a more natural, homeopathic approach.

Mesotherapy is ideal if you don’t want to go down the Botox and Fillers route but rather aim to achieve a natural glowing look and nourish your skin from the inside out with plant based or other effective solutions.

A typical mesotherapy cocktail generally contains over 50 active ingredients to nourish, repair and rejuvenate skin. The treatment delivers a potent dose of skin friendly ingredients. Antioxidants to combat free radicals. Nutrients such as hyaluronic acid, peptides, vitamins A,C,E and,B complex. Minerals like Magnesium, Sodium, Potassium and Calcium, plus amino acids that help produce elastin and collagen. Mesotherapy helps to bring vibrance to your skin, as well as much needed nourishment. This will also help to reduce the signs of ageing, resulting in younger looking, healthy skin.

What’s the Treatment Protocol?

A course of 4 treatments (1 every 3 weeks) is recommended to improve your skin quality. One treatment will make your skin look hydrated and dewy, but results will only last for a few weeks. One session is perfect for a special occasion or holiday but multiple sessions build up a bigger impact than a one-off treatment. We can discuss in consultation what treatment programme is most suitable for you.

How much will it cost?

Please see our treatment pricing page for the latest information on mesotherapy costs. We offer single sessions where required, but we also provide a discount for packages of 3 and 10 mesotherapy sessions. Mesotherapy Prices

Treatment time 30 min – 1hr

Treatment cost from £55 – £250

* Full consultation required

What can you expect?

Treatment time takes approximately thirty minutes and whilst not painful, it can be slightly uncomfortable. The needles used in mesotherapy are extremely fine, so the procedure is a lot more comfortable than you’d think and shouldn’t be painful in any way, an anaesthetic cream can be used if skin is a little sensitive.

What can I expect post treatment?

The procedure involves minimal recovery time. Following mesotherapy treatment, you can return to work the very same day. Like with any other cosmetic injection procedure, very rare side effects might include bruising, reaction to the injected vitamin cocktail, infection, inflammation and swelling.

When will I see results?

This depends on what you’re having treated; some patients can expect to see results after the first session, though many will be expected to attend two to three mesotherapy sessions before results are visible. Hyaluronic acid is quick to show a difference as this adds volume to the skin. Injections of vitamins/minerals require longer to take effect as these work to improve the quality of the skin from within.

Microneedling

Veine Cosmetic Health Care offers SkinPen Microneedling

Microneedling, often known as collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive process that uses micro-thin needles to create thousands of skin-deep injuries. Your body responds with wound healing, sending healing factors to stimulate new skin cells, boosting collagen and elastin, giving enhanced skin strength, radiance, and health. The procedure is a simple, safe and effective approach that is less intrusive than other procedures like chemical peels and dermabrasion.

What is SkinPen & how does it work?

SkinPen is a skin microneedling treatment that helps to improve the look and feel of your skin. The electronic device is for professional use only and works by creating thousands of micro-needle columns in the skin. The tiny needles penetrate deep into the tissue creating micro-injuries in the epidermis and dermis, this intentional injury stimulates the skin to regenerate, which in turn stimulates the skin to naturally regenerate and repair itself naturally by producing new collagen, elastin and skin cells. This leads to healthier looking skin with improved texture, tone and elasticity.

Does SkinPen hurt?

During a SkinPen treatment, there can be some slight discomfort, but most patients report no more than mild pinching sensation as the needle penetrates the top layer of skin. Afterward there will be some redness or minor swelling that should resolve within 24-48 hours post treatment and you will notice an improvement in texture and tone of your complexion. You may even experience softer, smoother-looking skin almost instantly.

To make your SkinPen treatment comfortable and relaxing:

Take some over-the-counter pain relief 15 minutes prior to your appointment.

Talk to your practitioner about numbing cream if needed for more sensitive areas.

Apply a cooling mask or enjoy a cool air fan directed at the treated area afterwards.

Apply the prescribed aftercare gels you will be given by your practitioner.

Overall, while there may be minor discomforts associated with this outpatient procedure, they will be minimal and temporary.

What does a SkinPen treatment involve?

Before getting skinpen microneedling treatment, it’s important to prepare for the procedure so we may ask you to stop taking certain medications or supplements that could interfere with the treatment.

We request you avoid sun exposure for a few days prior to your appointment which leads to increased sensitivity during treatment.

You should avoid waxing, plucking, or any other skin treatments for a few days before the treatment.

You should also avoid tanning for at least one week prior to the procedure as this could affect the healing process.

If you’ve had wrinkle relaxing (Botox) injections within four weeks of the treatment, you will need to inform your practitioner before proceeding.

Make sure you are properly hydrated and have a clean face free of makeup or oils.

What happens post treatment?

Once you’ve had a session of skinpen microneedling, it’s important to take the proper steps in order to ensure that your skin heals and recovers optimally.

After a treatment avoid all makeup, moisturisers, SPF and any activities that are going to make you sweat for the first 24 hours

Avoid sun exposure in the first 48 hours as it can cause adverse reactions on your skin. Sun damage can be a major issue following microneedling, as these tiny needles create pathways in your skin that are more susceptible to burning and other forms of UV damage. It also helps to apply a broad spectrum sunscreen daily, even on cloudy days or indoors. This will help prevent any further irritation caused by ultraviolet radiation.

Watch out for any side effects that may occur after the treatment. Redness, swelling and itching are all common symptoms of post-treatment healing, but if these become more severe or persist longer than expected it could be an indication of a problem. Keep an eye out for any signs of infection like pus-filled pimples or changes in skin colour around the treated area. While rare, infections can sometimes happen when needles penetrate the skin and create pathways for bacteria to enter.

How long does it take to see a result?

The results of skinpen microneedling can start to be seen within a few days with the production of new collagen, but the full result is usually visible after about four weeks. During this time period, your skin will continue to improve for up to 9 months as new collagen and elastin are generated.

To ensure maximum benefit from SkinPen treatments it is recommended to have multiple sessions (approximately 3-6) over a period of time – typically 4 weeks apart per session until desired results are achieved. With each passing session, additional improvements can be seen in terms of overall appearance of your skin’s health and vitality.

Is SkinPen Safe?

When used properly by a trained professional, SkinPen is considered safe. The device is FDA-cleared and has been shown to be effective in multiple clinical trials. But, like any other medical treatment, using SkinPen can have some risks and side effects, such as temporary redness, swelling, and pain during the treatment.

There are few long-term adverse effects associated with using SkinPen; however, some risks may include hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation of the treated area depending on your skin type, as well as potential infection at the site of injection if proper sanitary procedures aren’t followed.
